What's new

What's new in TalibNotes

The notable additions to reading, notes, study, and search. Shipped work only — what's on the page is in the app.

May 2026

  • Inline annotations on Qur'ān and Hadith

Anchor reflections directly to a verse or a passage, with notes sitting above and below the text simultaneously. Drawer composer, cross-tab sync, undo on delete, and export interleave so notes can leave the app inside PDF, Markdown, JSON, or copy without losing their citation.

  • Sharh (commentary), shipping progressively

Imam al-Nawawī's commentary on Sahih Muslim, Ibn Ḥajar's Fath al-Bārī on Sahih al-Bukhārī, and Tirmidhī (ʿAbd al-Bāqī) are available now. More collections are being added gradually as the corpus is checked.

  • A calmer scholarly look

A Modern Scholarly Manuscript palette across the app, with Playfair Display for headings and Amiri for UI Arabic. The theme is aged leather, not bright product chrome.

April 2026

  • Personal notebook workspace

Multi-folder organisation, hand-drawn pages with lasso selection, multi-device sync, page navigation strip, per-notebook default page color, and PDF export. The hub at /notes unifies notebooks and reflections in one place.

  • World-class search

Arabic-tashkīl normalisation so a bare query matches stored text with diacritics. Surah and hadith reference aliases. Field-weighted ranking with multi-snippet highlighting. Keyboard navigation, jump results, and an honest empty state.

  • Qur'ān word-level study

Root Explorer, root-based search, related verses, similar ayahs, mutashābihāt, inline word-meaning + transliteration toggles, and browseable thematic topics.

  • Mushaf view + per-verse audio

Page navigation, word interactions, verse highlighting, and karaoke-style audio sync that follows the ayah being recited.

  • Hadith reader

Collection grid view, numbering toggle (Print / LK), chapter cycle strip with coverage clarity, Muqaddima rendering, ṭarīq-variants toggle, and an opt-in Kitab Arabic typeface.

  • Bulk export hub

A single home at /export for bookmarks and chapter-level hadith exports — PDF, Markdown, JSON, copy.

  • Study tracking

Inline completion checkboxes on Qur'ān and hadith readers, a Recent Sessions block on the home page, hadith memorised pills, and dars cycles for repeated reading.

  • Qur'ān memorisation + revision

Track memorised ayāt, log revisions, and surface what's overdue. A mushaf heatmap shows coverage at a glance.

  • Mobile launch audit

Safe-area viewport-fit, 44 px touch targets across the public chrome, scroll-locked overlays, and clean text wrapping at 320 px.

  • Foundations for discovery

Sitemap index, schema markup, language attributes, topic landing pages, and internal linking so the right ayāt and hadiths can be found from search engines.
