The Book of Repentance
باب غَيْرَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَتَحْرِيمِ الْفَوَاحِشِ
The Protective Jealousy (Ghirah) Of Allah The Most High, And The Prohibition Of Immoral Behavior
وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْعَلاَءَ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ .
'Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported that a person kissed a woman and he came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and made a mention of that to him. It was (on this occasion) that this verse was revealed: This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu'ba through another chain of transmitters.
