The Book of Jihad and Expeditions
باب تَأْمِيرِ الإِمَامِ الأُمَرَاءَ عَلَى الْبُعُوثِ وَوَصِيَّتِهِ إِيَّاهُمْ بِآدَابِ الْغَزْوِ وَغَيْرِهَا
Ruler appointing leaders of expeditions and advising them of the etiquette of war, etc.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْفَرَّاءُ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، بِهَذَا .
It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Masa that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) deputed any of his Companions on a mission, he would say: This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Shu'ba.
