Book 31 (Supplication), Hadith 67

Supplication

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنَ الْخَمْسِ‏:‏ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ، وَالْبُخْلِ، وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ، وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ‏.‏

'Umar said, "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to seek refuge from five things: laziness, miserliness, bad pride, the trial of what is in the breast, and the punishment of the grave."
